So here's a photo of the other side of the office.

Here's the plan I came up with last night while I was suffering from insomnia.

I hope those little 3" shelves will hold up sheet music. Any opinions?

From my experience, shelves are not a really good option for holding sheet music.
At 3" depth, it's difficult to lay it at an angle that supports it/keeps the pages of a book from turning on you.

I'll just photocopy the pieces I'm trying to learn, then paste them to pieces of cardboard, and glue it to the edge of the shelf.

I think that would work well.
For many years, I played trumpet, violin, guitar, and bass.
I'm well versed in all the various home-riggings for sheet music.

:)

Well, as you can see, the current "rig" isn't exactly the most optimal setup.

The truth is I rarely even read music. I'm not very good at it, and I learn most songs by ear. I only bother to read music for classical pieces which deserve to be played note-for-note rather than improvised.

If I'm reading individual pieces, and not huge books, it will probably work okay. I was also thinking I could drill holes in the shelf and put little dowels in there to help hold a book in place. I'm handy like that.

NICE babe. Looks good. I like the little piece of art work.

Yeah I told you I was thinking of using the Eiffel Tower construction, but Tom sent me a link to this 10 x 10 print. The colors match everything else, and it's all musical. I think it will work pretty well!

I'm not real sure about the sheet music thing... but I'm giving that more thought. I'm definitely ready to get rid of the stand I'm using now.

When do we pick up this print from the framers?

The 17th, IIRC.

Dense

Ahh. You know better than to use abrev. with me. I almost never get them and you have to spell yourself out eventually anyway. Might as well just do that in the first place.

:P
