I have a violent case of the hiccups.

*hic!*

Wednesday I took the day off work and did a whole bunch of Christmas shopping.

Last night Danielle helped me wrap up all the presents. (Thank you, babe.)

This morning on the way to work I stopped at the UPS Store and got everything packed and shipped. I probably should have gotten everything done sooner, but I'm the type who does everything at the last possible moment. The box going to Texas contained 45 lbs worth of loot. The box going to Maryland weighed in at 31 lbs. The total cost of packing and shipping both boxes "3-day Select" was $163 — quite a bit more than any present I've bought so far. I should have bought my family stock in UPS.

It took the boys at the UPS Store awhile to get everything packed and weighed, so I ended up getting to the office a little later than usual. When I finally got in the elevator downstairs, two of the cleaning ladies got on and pressed the buttons for every single floor. They wanted to compare the Christmas decorations in each of the building's lobbies. I work on the top floor, so I was lucky enough to enjoy the entire festive ride.

You're welcome dearest.

Just for the record...Jarrett is a much better wrapper than I. So family, if you get an ugly wrapped one* don't razz Jarrett, that's my handy work :/

(*I'm not really that bad, but Jarrett has a much better attention to detail)

LOL on the elevator thing--and I can imagine Jarrett and wrapping... when it comes to appearances, "anal-retentave" is an understatement :-)

I got one gift sent off--the guys at the UPS Stores are great. 3-day for my nephew's gift cost me a little over $30 (I had to make sure without a doubt that that made it in time... it's a combo xmas + birthday gift since they fall within a few days of each other, and it's like the #1 thing he was asking Santa for). I was going to do the rest of my shopping this morning, but no car = kinda hard to go shopping. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to... eek... brave the mall mess tomorrow and pay the penalty for procrastination (well, wasn't so much procrastination as waiting for some checks to arrive so I could afford any shopping at all). This year's shopping is minor--and I think I have most of the stuff figured out now. My family is the worst, they never know what they want. The three kids are the important ones... my nephews are the easiest... they made it abudently clear to their uncle during our summer vacation exactly what they were wanting.

The question is... what do you get a niece? She loves clothes, so I guess that's it. I just remember fearing clothes gifts as a kid. Maybe it's a boy thing... :-)
