Why does the phrase "we'll be there between eleven and one" always end up meaning "we'll be there at 2:30"?

I wish the damn guy would get here already.

Update: They showed up at 12:15. Took them 25 minutes to replace the glass. Now I have to go over to the tinting place and try to get an appointment.

Sounds like a trick Comcast would pull. But let's not get me started on Comcast. Grrrr. Anyway, just wanted to say sorry 'bout your window getting smashed. It happened to me once, they took a bunch of things, ended up getting it all back as some cops busted them for speeding the same night. Losers.
