Mishaplicity
I added another Misha to the previous composite photograph.

(Click for full-size)

Misha was born January 18th. The three exposures (from left to right) were taken April 8th, May 4th, and today, June 12th.

He's a handsome young feline. Misha will be five months old in about a week. Then he's in for a real treat!

Hi. I'm Stacey, also born on January 18th. And here's something I made a year or so ago:

Ok, how the heck do you guys do this? I wanna try it.

Uh, do a search for Photoshop masking and compositing. If the photos are all taken with a tripod under the exact same conditions, you just have to apply some simple masks.

Of course, mine was a lot harder because I shot handheld from roughly the same place, but I had to do a lot of tweaking to make the composite work right.

you should post this one alongside the final. It's neat to see it this way too :)

I cheated on mine; I had a tripod set up in the same spot. I was doing it as a test to see how it would turn out. I liked the effect, and was going to redo this with me wearing different outfits, playing chess against myself or on the swings at the park or something. But I haven't gotten around to it/didn't have time to do that yet. That was the plan though.

But yeah, masking is how it's done. Or you can cut and paste actual photos on top of each other. That doesn't make it as seamless though, but kinda the same concept.

That's pretty rad, Stacey.

How did you stumble upon my journal?

I forget who I heard of you (&your LJ) from first, but it was either Japhy or Julie. It was a while ago, but we were having a discussion about the LJ logo at work and I decided to see if your LJ was still around. And I was intrigued by your post enough that I had to comment. So hi :)

oh yeah, and one of my co-workers is named Misha (er, might be Mischa, but close enough). Talk about coincidences.

Alrighty. You have officially been friended.

And here's a look back at when I designed the Live Journal logo: First draft, color, a peek at the sketch.

thanks! i always like seeing the evolution process of any piece :)
can i make an icon out of the sketch? i'll credit you in the comments of course.

i also found the comments interesting, in that not everyone is striked out. it's nice to see that a bunch of older users are still around. make julie leave the evil that is myspace and tell her to come back to lj!

Reminds me of the song Delilah by Queen

Though Freddie Mercury was a talented gay guy singing about a cat and you're just a closeted one going on about one.
