Photo Restoration
Something I was playing around with in Photoshop...

This is Marydel, Maryland, the town I grew up in. I believe the photo was taken in 1899.

Wow, that's really, really nice. It looks just like, well, a normal photograph. :)

Hey, you put in different trees! The tallest one in your version is like the two little ones at the extreme left behind the house's back porch, but all three of them don't look like the trees from the original picture.

That said, good job. I like the touch of making the window panes on the side of the house reflect the unseen sky on that side.

Dang! You do good work. There are a couple of links on www.deadfred.com of people who do this for $$$$. How long did it take you? I be the historical society in your hometown would be very appreciative of a color picture from 1899!!!

Quite nice

I recognize that sky/cloud filter. I've used it several times to make pictures better. The color work is really excellent on the house as well.

Re: Quite nice

I don't care for the Render/Clouds filter. It's a composite from the sky of a stock photo.

how cool! i didn't know you were a MD boy..... Is Marydel on the eastern shore? I don't think I've ever heard of it. (I just moved to Southern PA from MD).

Oh, and I thought the pix was cool too.

Yeah, Marydel is on the Eastern shore. If you were to walk down that dirt road there for a quarter mile, you'd be in Delaware.

I was born in Patuxent River, MD in 1899...er..wait..no, that was the 1970s. I figured it doesn't really matter much, since I left there when I was only 8 months old and don't remember anything, anyway.
