The Townhouse
I got some nice email about the sim-esque townhouse diagram on Juliecam.

I decided to go ahead and update the diagram to show our new furniture. We took the rug out of the living room, added a 6 foot cat tree and an occasional set.

WOW!

That is so cool! When I did my sim house I had to use the models that come with the game, how the hell did you customize it to be just like your stuff? What program did you use? Jeeze you are so talented!

Re: WOW!

Oh, stop! You're making me blush.

I did it all with Adobe Photoshop. I took measurements of every wall, and every piece of furniture in every dimension, then built the model pixel-by-pixel with the pencil tool. A few objects (mostly plumbing and appiances) I took from screenshots of the Sims and modified the scale/dimensions to fit our house. A few textures were taken from digital photos (like the design on the throw pillows, and the rug in the kitchen).

I tried to be as accurate as possible, but left out a lot of small objects to keep the diagram from looking too cluttered, and had to leave out a couple pieces of furniture that would have blocked too much of the view. There is a large bookshelf in the dining room which would totally hide the dining room table if it were there.
