Yesterday after work I went over to Best Buy to buy some new games.

I bought The Sims: Vacation for Julie. I tried the game out a little bit. My favorite character, Seth Reeves invited his friend August on a vacation. They went camping together. Seth was miserable, August was miserable, and of course, I was miserable. I don't see myself playing the game too much, but I hope Julie enjoys it.

When the Sims go Downtown or on Vacation the game gets so jumpy it's hard to play, and this is on a PIII 500. Hopefully the inevitable Sims 2 will have a more efficient graphics engine.

I also picked up Freedom Force. I've only played through one mission, but so far it's a whole lot of fun. It's like a top-down RPG with excellent graphics set in a 60's-era comic book universe. My main character is a superhero named Minute Man who goes around hitting thugs with his Staff of Justice. But he can also do other cool things like picking up cars and throwing them at people, or uproot a traffic signal then use it to give some henchman a proper "smack down". It's all kinds of fun, and you ought to go pick it up if you're into that sort of thing.
