In the Quicksand

...and sinking fast.

It's all about the good people on the JenniCam Fan Forum. Though, if you were to view it today, it reads more like the "qt/jarrett flame forum". Not that being flamed bothers me. I still don't care much about these people. But for some reason, I can't resist posting there in response to comments about me and Julie.

I started out on the high road, but slowly and steadily I've been sinking down to their level. Lately, I find myself resisting the urge to post "I did your mom" style responses. I'm better than that, and I'm better than those morons. I think anyone who had an interest in discussing Jennicam left long ago in favor of alt.fan.jennicam.

So the question is... what do I do now? Do I continue my unending quest? Some good does come of it. It keeps qtkat in the spotlight. My posts seem to annoy the people I wish to annoy. They respond in turn, and the cycle continues. But at the end of the day it's still an incredible waste of time, and I think they are starting to get to me. My "let's piss them off" attitude is turning into an unhealthy "I'll show those bastards" attitude.

Julie suggests it's time to quit.

It's Official

I'm done with 'em. Farewell, fuckheads. 'Nuff said.

Back to real life. I'm having an all-Flash day at work, which is excellent. Flash projects just suck me in, and it makes the day go by very quickly. This one is looking perdy so far. I'm using alpha-transparent PNGs rather than straight-up vectors to give the animation a more fluid, organic feel. File size suffers... but I like the effect.

Tonight is a "get together" over at Anna's house. She's been chastizing anyone who calls it a "party", because she feels that the word automatically burdens her with party host responsibilities. So after work we're gonna go over there, uh... get together, and watch some Survivor. Call me a dork... I just like the show. I'll be rooting for Colby. He seems like a good guy.

A party is forming for The Mummy Returns tomorrow night. Looks like there might be 6 - 10 of us grubbing on some Mongolian bbq before the movie. I'm looking forward to that.

Welp, back to my flashing!

More Awards on the Way?

The site I designed for the Rotary Club of Sacramento has been nominated un the Fifth Annual "Best of the Rotary Web" Awards.

Out of about twenty-five thousand eligible clubs, the site I designed has been chosen as one of the 10 finalists. I checked out the other nine... and... well... I think our chances are good.
