Oh my, I have a tidal wave of side-work collapsing on me. Deadlines will be pushed.
But I'm not going to stay up all night. I've made some good progress this weekend. I'm going to bed, then I'm going to get to the office early tomorrow and start a productive week.
Next week I'm on vacation!
My time report is due for last pay period.
Normally, the day the pay period ends I print out my time report, get all the signatures on it, and give it to John, the designated CSUS contract manager.
Well, this weekend John was in a motorcycle accident and is mangled in a hospital someplace, clinging to life. Meanwhile, no one else knows what happens to the time reports after I give them to John.
I gave the report to our office administrator, and she says she'll figure out what to do with it. I told her I'm pretty sure that John faxes them off to someone over at CSUS, but I'm not even sure of that.
So, I'll just have to wait until payday and hope a check arrives for me.
I've been offered a permanent job at the State of California, right here in the Department of Food and Agriculture.
Today I got my "new hire package" which included a stack of forms about 2 feet high. My hand hurts from filling them all out.
I begin my new job on July 1st. My new position title is Associate Information Systems Analyst (Specialist).
My new job will be to do the same thing as my old job (developing eGovernment websites), for about twice the pay, plus just about the best benefits you can get anywhere.
I. Am. Happy.
Next Tuesday at 1:15 PM.
I just bought five tickets to Alcatraz.
My Brother, Sister, Dad and Step-mom are coming to visit California for the first time.
I'm in Sacramento. Where do I take them?
What do I do??
Oh, and we have no money.
