(no subject)

Let's talk about the weekend.

I think I haven't been posting very much lately because I've been spending so much time with a certain person who really hates being discussed on the Internet. And who can blame her, really? Regardless, I think our little secret is starting to get out. And it's causing a little drama here and there, but nothing I can't manage. And nothing I wish do discuss. Don't ask.

But other stuff happened this weekend that is worthy of public discussion. Last night I had a lovely dinner with my good friend Chris (the lovely gigglecam). We went to the Olive Garden and caught up on recent events. I hadn't really chatted with her much lately so we had a whole lot to talk about. She's gonna be in town for a couple weeks doing some sort of work training. I just wish I didn't have so much work stuff going on at the same time, I'd like to see her as often as possible while she's around. I don't get down to San Diego very often. Like, ever.

Now I'm back at work again, strumming the guitar, earning your tax dollar. Did I ever mention that I'm learning to play the guitar? Everyone else around here plays, so a couple weeks ago I picked one up (we have three guitars in the office) and decided to start learning. By most accounts, I'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly. Give me a couple more years of practice. I'm going to be a rock star.

Forgotten Anniversary

I started working at SacWeb on October 26th, 1998. Had the company not laid me off and gone out of business in a corporate scandall that rocked Sacramento, Saturday would have been my four year anniversary.

Regardless of the untimely demise of the company, the community remains. We former SacWebbians have sort of a brotherhood, a fraternity, a common bond. Most of my closest friends are those I made while working there, and I really don't know what my life would be like now if I hadn't been hired that day.

Cheers to Chris (cru), Niki, Little Brian (timepieces), T-Bone, Mitch, Shaun (dark_wolfe), Deved, Josh, Anna, Melissa, Charles, Rupert, Jay, Ryan (macklinr), Gavin (gpimp), and everyone else who made working there so much fun!
