I'm back from Texas!

I probably didn't mention it, but I spent the last week and a half in Texas with my entire immediate family: Mom, Dad & Dorenda (my step-mom), Tom 4 & Denise (brother and sister-in-step), their 15-month-old twins, Tom 5 & Ainsley, Beth & Kevin (step-sister and her baby-daddy), and their 13-month-old daughter Shannon. All eleven of us camped out in the same house. It was the first time I got to meet Shannon, and the first visit with Tom 5 and Ainsley since they were newborns.

The trip was great. It had been an unusually long time since I spent any time with my family because I had held off on any travel plans while saving for my now-cancelled wedding. So, some quality time with the kin was pretty well overdue. We spent a whole lot of time just hanging around the house, because with three babies, going anyplace is a pretty big production. But we did manage to:
  • Dine at my all-time favorite Brazillian steak-house
  • Take the twins to a puppet show
  • Peruse a nifty car show
  • Spend a day at the Fort Worth Zoo
  • Check out the local Wal-Mart and Starbucks
  • Clean out and reorganize Tom's garage
  • Have a great big family portrait taken at Sears
  • Other fun stuff
I didn't really take any pictures during my trip. But Tom took a bunch of good ones at the zoo. I don't have the link to them handy at the moment, but I'll get those out to you soon.

As for now, it's back to work serving the people of the great state of California.
