I feel great!

Birthday!

The word on the street is that Britney Spears is delivering the Federcletus at this moment. That's awesome. I get to share my special day with the unholy spawn of Britney Spears.

So, yeah, you may have heard that today I begin my 30th trip around the sun, and I also start my fifth year as a ward of The State. So far the day is going well. Danielle gave me twenty-nine "Happy Birthday" notes, littered about the house (and in my car) where she knew I would stumble upon them. Tonight she's cooking me a special dinner, which may feature chicken and potatoes.

And she bought me a shiny new Nintendo DS, which gives our household the status of containing every current generation gaming console. If you enjoy video games, our house is pretty much the place to be. With any luck I'll get some gift certificates and we can get some software for the new system. I'll admit it -- I can't wait to try out Nintendogs. Of course, I'm also looking forward to Advance Wars: Dual Strike, and the upcoming Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Speaking of video games, Video Games Live has announced tour dates near our location. VGL is some sort of interactive game show concert... thing. Whatever it is, they'll have a symphony orchestra playing video game music, so I'll be there.

And at the end of next month, I'll be going to BlizzCon in Anaheim. Yeah, it's a video gaming convention. After ten months, I'm playing (and enjoying) World of Warcraft more than ever. I've been obsessively leveling my second character, and undead mage called Quaid. You can find him on the Scarlet Crusade server, often melting faces in Arathi Basin, and steadily climbing up the PVP ranks. Playing a Horde mage is about thirty-seven times more enjoyable than playing an Alliance paladin, and the experience has renewed my affection for the game. In a fit of boredom, Danielle created an undead character too, and a few nights a week we play together. I have a low-level priest to keep her warlock company. I'll have to show you some screenshots of the happy, rotting couple.

Anyway, happy birthday to me!
