At Long Last!

Back in the day I bought a Canon EOS Elan IIe. It was a good 35mm camera. I had a few nice lenses and accessories. Then I realized that I'd be better off with a digital camera. I sold all my 35mm gear and bought a digital point-n-shoot: a Canon PowerShot S330 Digial Elph. It's nearly useless. I don't know if mine was defective, but the little camera had a painfully long start-up time, and a lot of trouble focusing indoors, even in good light. Once Danielle got her Canon PowerShot A20, I pretty much retired my Elph and just borrowed hers when I needed it.

I never intended the Elph to be my main camera, but I never got around to buying the digital SLR I always wanted. Until today!

I was surfing the web and came across some special Dell coupon codes for digital cameras. So I went ahead and bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT (aka Canon EOS 350D) kit with the 18-55mm lens. This thing usually retails for $899.00, but after all the discounts and rebates, I scored mine for $584.20. Not a bad deal, I think.

I can't wait to get my hands on this thing. I promise to post lots of pictures.
