On June 29th, 1998 I moved to California from Delaware. Probably one of the best things I ever did (not the smartest, however, because I did it for the wrong reason).
On June 29th, 2000 I posted my first LiveJournal entry.
Two years later my life still tumbles along on its seemingly random path. But things continue to get better. I've had a couple of steps back, but they're always followed by tremendous leaps forward. I'm just lucky that way. When I was laid off last year, I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but somehow I felt that something better would come along. And it did. I hold the same optimism for my currently non-existant love life. I've only been single for two and a half months so far, so there's not an urgent need to improve that situation. But I feel as if something better will come along. And it will.
I'm happy being single. But I'm also happy knowing I won't be single forever. I'm happy with my new apartment. I'm happy with my new job. I'm happy I have so many wonderful, caring people in my life.
I'm not crazy about my car.
Anyway, be happy. You may not have as much going for you as a movie star, or a professional athlete, or a fashion model, or your next door neighbor, but you're probably doing much better than most of the people out there.
