Surveylicious. - Jarrett Heather — LiveJournal
Jarrett Heather's Journal
This survey arrived in my inbox from Danielle. Rather than reply to the email, I figured I'd just journal it.

What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Adaptation with Nick Cage. I mean, he's in the movie. I didn't really see it with Nick Cage. I saw it with Danielle.

What books are you reading now?
I... never learned to read.

What is your favorite board game?
Cranium, I guess. The charades part of it sucks, though. On the other hand, clay is cool.

What is your favorite magazine?
Definitely Entertainment Weekly.

What are your favorite smells?
Vanilla and cinnamon.

What is your favorite comfort food?
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

What are your favorite sounds?
I've always been partial to the piano.

What is the worst feeling in the world?
Stepping on a rusty nail.

What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?
"I hope I don't step on any rusty nails today."

What is your favorite fast food place?
Jack in the Box. Y'know, they don't have Jack in the Box back east where I grew up. All I ever knew about them before I moved out here was that some kid died eating there back in 1993. I never realized then what a delicious fate it was. Mmmmmmmmmm, E-coli.

What is your future child's name?
Not likely.

Finish this statement: "If I had a lot of money, I would...
...spend most of it on booze and women and then I'd probably waste the rest."

Do you drive fast?
Ha! My Honda Civic can barely get up hills. But I usually hit eighty on the freeways.

Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
Not that I know of.

Storms: Cool or scary?
I think they are cool. We don't really get thunder storms here in the valley for some reason. I sure miss them sometimes.

What was your first car?
1986 Chevy Cavalier, 2-door, red. I bought it from my brother. I drove it more than 100,000 miles.

What is your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is definitely Mountain Dew Code Red. But as far as alcoholic drinks go, I like Long Island ice tea and the Perfect Margarita they serve at Applebee's.

Finish this statment: "If I had the time I would...
...write music, develop a flash cartoon, play video games, and learn more about 3D modelling."

Do you eat the stems of broccoli?
I don't much care for any part of the broccoli.

If you could dye your hair any color, what would you choose?
Well, nothing is really stopping me from dying my hair any color, so, I guess I'd choose not to.

How many different cities / towns havey ou lived in?
Seven: Marydel, Delaware; Marydel, Maryland; North East, Maryland; Newark, Delaware; Stockton, California; Citrus Heights, California; and Sacramento, California.

What is your favorite sport to watch?

What is under your bed?
Dust bunnies.

Toilet paper / paper towel: Over or under?
I usually do it in the "over" configuration, but I don't really care one way or the other.

PS...considering your hatred for surveys I'm honored that you choose not only to reply to the one I sent you (mostly as a joke...knowing your hatred) but to post it in your journal. Angelique (the originator) will also be touched.

*scratches head* Why are there two Marydels? Do the people on the Maryland side say MARYdel and the people on the Delaware side say maryDEL to distinguish between the two? Is there a MaryDeal High on each side of the border, but one is the "Raging Roosters" and the other is the "Fighting Hens"? Marydel is kinda pretty sounding, but at the same time, it's kinda lazy. Couldn't they come up with ANOTHER town name? I'm sure there is way more town names available than Delaware has land to fill them with.

Marydel is one small town that couldn't decide what state it's in. I grew up on the Delaware side (19964), but then my dad moved to the Maryland side (21649). Since the town has only a few hundred people and it's in a very rural area, it doesn't have any schools. It doesn't even have any traffic signals. However, there are several liquor stores and a fire station on the Maryland side.

Actually the tiny town was split across three different school districts. I only went to school with my closest neighbors.

Did you come up with "Fighting Hens" off the top of your head? Are you aware what the actual mascot of the University of Delaware is?

I think I remember the Fighting Hens thing vaguely. My friend Jason went there as an undergrad, and now he goes to UCD for grad school. I also remember that he went from one blue&gold school to another.

Actually, once I heard the story about Marydel, it didn't sound stupid, so I'll lay-off your home town. "Couldn't decide" doesn't sound so bad as "let's be quaint and have a Marydel right next to another Marydel. It'll confuse everyone, so why not?".
