Lots of stuff has been going on lately. I'm sure you'd all love to hear about it. Let's go over things chrnologically.
Friday night was a big milestone. I finally met some of Danielle's friends (I've already met most of her family). We met up with Tammy and William for some Chili's. After dinner we headed over to Hard Times to shoot some pool. It was totally fun. I look forward to hanging out with them again in the future. They are good peoples.
Danielle and I had lunch at the Olive Garden, then we met up with Niki to see Old School. It was easily one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long, long time. If you're in the mood to laugh, you should definitely check that one out. After the movie, we ran around town running a few errands here and there. Danielle bought some clothes and beauty products.
Oh, then we stopped at the Yamaha piano store to annoy the clerks. I banged on at a nine foot concert grand piano for awhile. It had the lid open and everything. It was definitely loud. But the sound was just amazing. Going home and playing on my synthesizer definitely left a lot to be desired. Some day I will own a house and I will have a music room with at least a baby grand piano in it. I could probably find a nice used one for ten grand. I'd better start saving up.
Later we went to Fry's and I bought some new Xbox-related toys. What did I get? A Linksys wireless ethernet bridge, the Controller S, and MechAssault. So far I am very happy with each of those three purchases. The ethernet bridge was a breeze to hook up, and now my Xbox talks to the Internet without any cables to trip over. The smaller version of the Xbox controller is much more comfortable than the unweildy device that comes with with console. And the one-player campaigns on MechAssault are lots of fun, although I'm mainly just honing my skills for online play.
Saturday night I tried Xbox live for the first time. I played Unreal Championship against my brother Tom in Texas (gamertag: TEHIV). It worked better and was more fun than I really expected it to be. The voice chat doohickey worked surprisingly well. There was a bit of a delay when a lot of people were playing, but the sound quality was better than my telephone. Yay for Xbox.
On Sunday Danielle went out to lunch with Jan, her ex-mother-in-law. I stayed home and worked on websites most of the afternoon. At six we saw the season premiere of Six Feet Under, which was in high definition for the first time. That made me happy. Not to mention that the show was excellent, as usual. It looks like the season is off to a good start. Danielle has never watched the show, so I'm going to try to get her into it. I might have to buy the first season DVD set to help her catch up a little.
So that pretty much sums up the weekend. I'd better get some work done.
