I got my car windows tinted last Thursday. It looks so good! The chicks really dig my car.
You know Danielle and I have gone to see every big event movie this summer. Last Wednesday we even snuck out on a school night to see Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on opening night. If there are two things I love, they're movies with really long titles and movies based on theme park attractions. So, this one was obviously not a disappointment. Actually, this may be the best movie I've seen this summer, with the possible exception of the gorgeous Finding Nemo. There's really nothing to complain about in Pirates. The story was great, the action was great, the effects were great, and the hijinks were funnier than a monkey in a tutu. Stop what you're doing and go see it now.
You may have heard that Priates is the first Disney movie ever to be rated higher than PG. It is PG-13 of course, but personally I think it should have been rated Arrrrrgh. [ Insert rimshot here ]
So in reciprocation for taking her on the Pirate date and generally being the best boyfriend in the greater Sacramento area, Danielle decided to treat me to lunch and a movie on Saturday. Not only that, she took me to a movie which she had planned to avoid like the West Nile virus — Terminator 3: La Rebelión de las Máquinas (sounds so elegant en Español, eh?). I thought the movie was great, but Danielle was thoroughly bored throughout. It still baffles me that not all women are excited by time-travelling robots. But she was happy to treat me to the matinée and sit through the two-hour chase sequence, which may place her high in the running for Best Girlfriend Ever. And as if that weren't enough, after the movie she bought me some Mongolian barbeque which we enjoyed while discussing quantum physics. Yes, our relationship has already moved beyond Newtonian physics and we haven't even known each other a year. Magical, isn't it?
Did I mention that I loved the movie? Yeah, it was a little shallow, light on story, and could have used some more interesting characters, plus it will never compare to the groundbreaking Terminator 2: El Día del Juicio Final, but... wait, what was I going to say that was good about the movie? Yeah, the stunts and explosions were neat. I'm a simple man, folks. I was entertained.
The rest of the weekend was a little slow. Danielle and I were both in a bit of a funk yesterday. I had a lot of website work to do, and my computer has not been cooperating with me lately. I've bought so much new hardware lately that it's been impossible to track down exactly what the problem is. Last Tuesday I ran out to buy a new power supply hoping it would be the answer to all my comoputer's ills, but it has had no effect beyond making my machine hum a bit quieter, which is a good thing, but hardly worth the hundred bucks I spent on the part. I've got Shaun trying to figure out what to do next, and I fear a new motherboard may be in my future. I need you all to collectively say a little prayer for my poor, sick computer.
I renamed my computer from SNAKE to STRONGBAD. I'm going to go with a Homestar Runner characters theme for my network in the future.
So, to sum up: Jarrett: good. Car: good. Movies: good. Quantum physics: very confusing. Computer: sick. Danielle: best girlfriend ever.
