True, but I've also heard in the conversation I've had with my friends is that thieves, if suspecting the car is being tracked will:

a) strip the car in a yard (which apparently can take minutes, or faster if they have friends. keep in mind, most thieves are professionals at this)

b) drain the engine flids (gas, oil, etc), and ream the hell outta it, causing for imminent seizure of the engine and transmission. this also doesn't take long.

You may get your car back, but it may not be worth it in the long run. Hmm, sounds like a movie to me.

I just feel happy knowing my Kia Sephia is very very low on the want-list for thieves... and even so, it's just a car, and it has all the neccissary insurances.

The alarm is up to you tho.

Heh, in a way the non-professional thieves can be worse. Had a neighbor once that got his piece-of-shit car stolen the night he moved in. The police found it the next day--it was taken by a couple of stupid teens who I guess were "bored", and they were drunk... and, well they stopped when the car ran into a building.

He got his car back... what was left of it :-)
