Photo Restoration Project
After my grandfather died back in February, we came across a very cool photo at his house. It was a panoramic print measuring 12" by 30" taken of Grandad's senior class trip to Washington, D.C. on June 1, 1931. He was sixteen years old in the photo.

My brother took the print home to Texas. About a month ago he sent me a high-resolution scan of the aged image. I decided it was worthy of restoration, so I've been working on it on and off, mostly during lunch breaks.

I think it looks pretty good now. Maybe in the future I'll add color, but I'm not real sure how good that would turn out. In the meantime, check out the restoration images.

The original scan (resized for the web).

The restored image (resized as well).

Here are some detail shots:

That's Grandad (Thomas E. Heather, Jr.) on the left.

That's awesome, but something is bugging me about the clouds... I dunno, it looks surreal. The day seems like it should be overcast to me.
