Window Shade Project

We have these two windows in our living room that are up high by the ceiling. They are the only windows in the house that don't have blinds or shades. This is a problem. First off, they let direct sunlight fall on my black piano, which could potentially bleach the finish. But the more immediate concern is the dog. From the balcony of the loft, he can see the cows across the street. Pazzo does not like the cows. He will sit upstairs all day and growl and bark at the evil cows. It was cute for like... a day. Now it's just driving us insane. So we decided it was time to cover the windows. Danielle hatched a plan which we executed flawlessly. The whole project cost about $30.

Here's our problem area. Two big windows without any treatment. Definitely un-fabulous.

Here I am being a manly-man sawing some wood in the garage.

This is the view from the loft balcony, featuring a 50% reduction in evil cows.

Admire the excellent craftsmanship. Danielle did some of the sawing too. She's a better carpenter than I am.

A job well done!
